Welcome Letter

Hello Members of Black Women for Biden,

Patricia Duncan and I, Danyell Smith, are honored to be the National Co-Chairs for Black Women for Biden. We take this opportunity to thank you for joining our team.

We are so excited to have such an amazing group of women and men who are leaders that are diverse, passionate, and ready to be the foot soldiers, or shall we say social media/technical soldiers of this new era. This COVID19 pandemic has forced us to be creative in the way we campaign. I like to call it “Our New Normal!

As community leaders, we have been tasked with ensuring that the next president is committed to restoring democracy and our constitutional rights. Our charge is to assist in getting the former Vice President Joe Biden elected. Our priority is to galvanized our family, friends, and communities to register to vote and to show up at the polls on election day.

The most qualified candidate for the next President of the United States of America is Joe Biden. He is a strong and passionate leader who will restore leadership and civility to America. He will ensure democratic and constitutional rights for all citizens, “restoring the soul of our nation.” We are counting on Joe Biden to fight for programs designed to support and improve all communities, especially those that are vulnerable and underserved. We anticipate an agenda dedicated to Healthcare, Education, Housing, Criminal Justice Reform, and many other issues that support success for everyone.

Our charge as Black Women for Biden has three components:

1) Voter Registration

2) Vote by Mail

3) GOTV – Get Out the Vote

We must be strategic, stay focus, and elect Joe Biden to become the 46th President of the United States of America.

We are One Voice, Same Purpose!

Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Through which all blessings flow, we thank You for this opportunity to lift You in Praise and Worship.

We worship and lift You up our God, our Savior who turns miseries into miracles and pain into powerful healing opportunities.

We are joined together on the Biden Team as foot soldiers in a mighty mission under God to lift up truth, mercy, and justice and to cast down all the isms, the divisions, the mean-spiritedness trying to destroy our land.

It is no accident that we are on the Biden team. We are the Esthers of this generation, called to the nation to serve at a time of crisis such as this.

In Many Ways This is our date with destiny, a chance to help bend history in a new, fresh and honorable direction back toward justice.

We call on You our God to stop the plague that is harming so many, but not just from CODIV-19 but from the plague of selfishness, the plague of malice, the plague of greed, the plague of corruption that is attacking us in so many other ways.

We honor You OH LORD knowing that You are greater than any virus, larger than any evil forces that could ever defeat us.

We call on You to catch those tears that are falling, comfort the afflicted, and embrace us with your open arms and undying love as you heal the broken-hearted. Be our guide and our comforter in these difficult times. And, when the darkness surrounds us and fear creeps in, let faith arise and send that light that can pierce our hearts and flood them with unspeakable joy.

We ask your OH Lord for your godly counsel. Let us not bring to the public good ideas, but God ideas straight from the throne of Grace. Let us not repeat the mistakes of the past, but birth positive fresh solutions for generations to come. Not just for one, but for all, leaving no one behind.

And now Dear God we ask you to bless our leader, Joe Biden, his family –AND ALL OF US—The Biden team who will pray together, stay together and rejoice together in victory as we ourselves remain devoted to the change deserving of this great nation.

AND in the words of that Great Prophet Amos, we await the dawning of a brand-new day, when justice rolls down like a river and righteousness like a mighty stream!

Amen.

(Rev. Barbara A. Reynolds)
